Ex-Chiefs Defender Hlanti Seeks Revival at TS Galaxy

Former Kaizer Chiefs left-back, Sifiso Hlanti, is looking to reignite his career with a potential move to fellow Premier Soccer League (PSL) side, TS Galaxy.

The 34-year-old veteran defender finds himself a free agent after his contract with the Amakhosi expired, prompting a search for a new club.

Hlanti’s journey since his departure from Chiefs has been a challenging one, marked by trials and uncertainty, but a potential lifeline has emerged with the Rockets.

Hlanti’s experience is undeniable. Having previously worked with Gavin Hunt at Bidvest Wits, the experienced defender initially sought to reunite with his former coach at SuperSport United. However, this reunion did not materialize, leaving Hlanti’s future in limbo.

This setback compounded the difficulty Hlanti faced in securing a team since July, a period during which he was forced to train independently to maintain his fitness.

There were whispers of interest from Motsepe Foundation Championship side Casric Stars, but these reports ultimately amounted to nothing, leaving Hlanti’s professional future hanging in the balance.

Now, a new opportunity has presented itself at TS Galaxy. As reported by Soccer Laduma, Hlanti is currently training with the Mpumalanga-based club, hoping to impress head coach Adnan Beganovic.

The possibility of a short-term contract is on the table, contingent on Beganovic’s assessment of Hlanti’s current form and fitness.

This trial period represents a crucial juncture in Hlanti’s career, offering him a chance to prove he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level of South African football.

TS Galaxy’s interest in Hlanti is understandable given their current defensive struggles. The team has conceded 11 goals in their first 10 league games, a statistic that highlights a clear need for defensive reinforcement.

Hlanti’s extensive experience in the PSL could provide the stability and leadership that Galaxy’s backline currently lacks.
